Christy....I loved this article! Thanks for sharing it :)
Yesterday, you asked where were were in the process & I responded by saying that our dossier was *still* at the Consulate in NY. However last night I got a call from Andrea....things are moving along!! It's in Kaz(of course I had to blog about it this morning)!

Great article. There are interesting perspectives presented by those who commented too.
I particularly love this comment# 17, which is actually a kind of rebuttal. How true that we are all seeking the smae things...
I guess ultimately we need to take a 360 degree view of adoption. I also hear people say that our child will be lucky to have us as parents, but I don't think that people mean that we're sweeping in and saving the day of some orphan. I think its that we will find each other and that Matt and I are preparing ourselves, learning as much as we can, and since we're older, we're more settled and stable. BUT all of us need ot be aware of the words we mean, how they can be double-sided - that they mean one thing to me as a parent, and one thing to our child that is something entirely different.
Incidentally, we will be the lucky ones to have our child...
Christy, thanks so much for sharing that article. I saved it to show my family when they're out here for Christmas. I also loved reading the comments.
Hang in there while you wait, sweetie-
